Queen
Liliuokalani was the last monarch to rule Hawaii. This authentic
Japanese garden was named after Queen Lily and was built in the early 1900's
as a memorial to the immigrant Japanese workers who worked on local
sugar plantations. The garden covers about 30 acres and is the largest
Japanese garden outside of Japan. The garden
is located near downtown Hilo at the Hilo Bay end of Banyan Drive and Lihawai
Street.

There
are very nice walkways that give you a very pleasant stroll.
Several benches are scattered about should you wish to just sit and
contemplate whatever. |
