Hawaiian Gardens

2006 update: The Hawaiian Gardens in February of 2006 was closed and seemed to be going to reopen as The German Gardener.  As we drove by there were workmen there and all of the plants looked to be gone.

Hawaiian Gardens is not one of your typical tourist attractions, but if you get to Kailua-Kona, I would highly recommend a visit.  Hawaiian Gardens is more of a nursery for the local gardeners, but if you have that someone special you want to send flowers to, this is a great place to stop.

This page is somewhat different from other pages on this blog in that the photos have been arraigned in a slide show.  To launch the show, click the TV:

To get to the Hawaiian Gardens from Kailua-Kona go up mountain on highway 190 to where highway 180 goes off to the right.  Hawaiian Gardens is located at this intersection and the entrance will be to the right as soon as you turn onto highway 180.  To find their website you can search on "Hawaiian Gardens Kona"

On the way to the Hawaiian Gardens don't be surprised if you don't see some beautiful bougainvilleas along the way.
